“Let’s get tropical” on April 28 as A1A, the official Jimmy Buffett tribute band, comes to Doraville for a free concert in the newly-renovated Flowers Park, 5921 New Peachtree Road (across the street from the Doraville MARTA station).
The event, open to the general public, will be the final highlight to an evening celebrating the re-opening of the park and featuring Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman’s annual State of the City address. Food trucks will be on hand if guests want to grab a bite before or during the celebration. Guests are free to bring their own food and beverages, but, please, use plastic glasses and containers only.
Also, since seating is limited, guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy this evening under the stars.
Headlining the first ever Concert in Flowers music series, A1A is a seven-piece band complete with audio and light production that will bring to life a colorful and energetic family-friendly Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show. The audience can expect to hear Buffett favorites in addition to classic reggae and original A1A trop rock music.
Created in 1991, A1A is the first band to repeatedly headline the annual Jimmy Buffett "Meeting of The Minds" Parrot Head Convention and many other landmark annual Parrot Head events. (Jimmy Buffet fans are universally known as “Parrot Heads.”) They have released three CD’s of original trop rock music, played to countless audiences around the world and continue to draw record crowds to their public performances.
The energy, musicianship, originality and excitement that have always surrounded an A1A performance is an experience and a driving force that has helped the band remain the first and foremost Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show in history.
